When we were approached earlier this year by philanthropists Ted Hoskins and Walt Reed from Maine to donate some Deep Freeze licences to a project in Southern Belize, we were eager to help. Ted and Walt, along with their crew of volunteers, have been working on various projects for several years in Monkey River, Belize to help rebuild the community, which was devastated during Hurricane Iris in 2001. They came to us for a solution to maintain the settings and configurations on some new laptops that were donated to the village's school computer lab. Check out this blog post to see how the kids are progressing.
Faronics was also pleased to partner with Softchoice for one of their Softchoice Cares philanthropic missions. The Softchoice Cares team set up 35 laptops at 7 different orphanages in Bali, Indonesia in April, so we again donated some Deep Freeze licences to the cause. By doing so, they are assured the laptops will maintain their original, desired settings and configurations. This will also scale back the amount of tech support required to run the labs. Faced with a volatile energy market and a growing focus on sustainability, organisations are increasingly looking at more energy efficient strategies. Bim Parmar, Faronics VP of Marketing, talks to the UK's Green Wise Business Magazine on why the draft Energy Bill does nothing to help businesses.
Insight eliminates the headache of managing a computer-based learning environment. With the new free Tech Console, IT Administrators can do more with less. Administrators can now provide remote support and perform network management tasks without even leaving their desks. The Tech Console also allows IT to control Faronics Deep Freeze too.
